It makes reporting easier, and generally improves clarity to organise the criteria in groups within a particular subject. For example, in English, speaking and listening, reading, and writing might be appropriate groupings. Within each of these groups criteria are specified which define the requirements of the group. This provides a block of criteria statements which provide the main targets for learning in a major aspect of the subject.
